14th May: There will be no more dispatches from James as I have just relised that James is a member of the Jagged Globe team.

1st May: Mount Everest has today been officially closed. The Nepalese side of Everest is closed for two days, May 1 and May 2, to allow the Olympic flame to reach the summit of the mountain – from the Chinese side. As with all the other expeditions here, we will wait for the all clear before going back up.

21st April: The following dispatch has been posted on James website:

James has asked me to pass on the following message: unfortunately due to circumstances beyond his control, James is no longer able to communicate outside of Everest base camp. He apologises to anyone who has sent him an email in the last 8 days, as he has not been able to see them, nor will he be able to respond until may 10th. He is very thankful for all the messages of support and would love for them to continue. He is hopeful that this situation will be rectified before may 10th, and then all will become more clear. He is thankful to all the Nepalese who are doing their best to insure a safe and successful climb.

In other news, James and the team made it to camp 1 three days ago, and are looking to push towards camp 2 tomorrow .
