EXPEDITION NOW FINISHED
25th May: By mid-day today, everyone was back down, safe and well, in Base Camp. David and Adele will hold on for a few days to help the Sherpas as they finish bringing loads off the mountain.
24th May: The team have now descended the Lhotse Face are in Camp 2. Some of the team will rest there for a day or so after the gruelling summit push, whilst others will come down to base camp tomorrow.
23rd May: The team left the South Col Camp by 10pm last night. The first team members reached the summit by 5:30am. The remainder of the team arrived on the summit at 7.20am. All are reported safely back at the South Col Camp.
22nd May: By 11 am, local time, some of the team members had reached the South Col Camp.
21st May: The team are now in Camp 3 on the Lhotse Face. They climbed well through the early hours of this morning, and were now settling into the routine of cooking, resting and drinking.
19th May: The team set off for the final trip up the mountain at 2 am this morning. They have left for a two day stay at Camp 2. Weather permitting, they hope to reach the summit sometime this Friday.
14th May: On the 11th May the team reached Camp2 and stayed there for the night. The following day they made the ascent to Camp 3 as the last part of there acclimatization progress. After a uncomfortable night at Camp 3 it was the long descent back to Base Camp. Here they are looking forward to some rest, sleep and plenty of food.
1st May: Mount Everest has today been officially closed. The Nepalese side of Everest is closed for two days, May 1 and May 2, to allow the Olympic flame to reach the summit of the mountain – from the Chinese side. As with all the other expeditions here, we will wait for the all clear before going back up.
29th April: The team are up in Camp 2, having spent 2 nights there. This has been their 3rd acclimatisation climb. They plan to descend tomorrow (30 April) and have a break down in the Khumbu Valley, prior to their summit push.
22nd April: The team are settled in at Camp 1 for the next two nights. All members doing ok.
21st April: The team will make a second push up to Camp 1 tomorrow (Tuesday), with the aim of spending a couple of nights there, before continuing up to Camp 2.
18th April: The team have reached Camp 1 with the plan of staying here for the night before descending back to Base Camp tomorrow.
15th April: Since arriving at Base Camp some of the team have trekked to the summit of Kala Patar for views of Everest. Other times they have been busy sorting gear and have made a trip into the Khumbu Ice Fall.
11th April: The Jagged Globe team reached Base Camp earlier in the week
